Programs for Adults
Belozer’e
Russian folk ensemble, performing Russian folk songs, dances, and recreating ancient rituals and traditions. To become a member one does not need to have experience, language skills, or special talents – just the desire to learn. RCC members enjoy free training, shoes and costume rental. Non-members fee is $25 per class.
Posidelki
Discussion club for Russian-speakers. Third Friday of every month at 7 PM. 1624 3rd Street NE, Minneapolis, MN 55413. Space is limited, so pre-registration through e-mail or phone is required. $2 donation appreciated.
Istok Program
Program for learning the Russian language, folk arts and crafts for adults. Distance learning available.
Seminars
Making kokoshniks – making Russian traditional headdresses.
Making costumes – making Russian traditional costumes.
Russian clay toys – making clay toys such as those from the village of Filimonovo.
Russian ritual dolls – making Russian ritual cloth or yarn dolls.
Russian cuisine – pierozhki (filled pastries), zakuski (appetizers), bliny (Russian pancakes), historical dishes.
